This Webquest has been designed for ESL students with a pre-intermediate or intermediate level of English.

The objectives are to analyse several versions of Little Red Riding Hood that we can find on the Net, and to write a new updated version of the story, set in the 21st century.

It will be carried out in class in 2/3 sessions and as part of the students’ homework.

 

Procedure and Resources

Activity 1

Students, in pairs, compare and contrast 5 different on-line versions of Little Red Riding Hood, and complete a chart with the differences that they find.

Activity 2

Students use the Story Map to create an outline of their own updated version of Little Red Riding Hood. They write notes about the characters, setting and plot. They can use an on-line dictionary and start searching already for illustrations.

Activity 3

Using the Story Map as a guide, students write their own updated version of Little Red Riding Hood. This is a homework activity and each pair of students can choose how they want to publish their story: they can make a poster, a picture story or a PowerPoint presentation.

Students present their stories to their classmates.
